Privacy Policy

1. What data we collect
When you create an account we collect your name and email address. When you list a plate we collect the plate combination, pricing, and any description or photos you provide. When you make an offer or contact a seller we store the offer amount, message, and your contact email. When you submit feedback via the Why MP page we collect your name, email (both optional), your message, and your IP address for spam prevention purposes.
2. How we use your data
Your data is used solely to operate MarketPlates. This includes displaying your listings to other users, facilitating contact between buyers and sellers, sending transactional notifications when someone makes an offer on your plate or responds to a wanted listing, and improving the platform based on feedback you choose to submit.
3. Third-party services
MarketPlates uses Supabase to store and manage user accounts, listings, offers, and all platform data. Authentication via Google is handled through Supabase Auth and Google OAuth. Email notifications are sent via Resend. These services process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies. We do not use advertising networks or analytics platforms that track you across other websites.
4. Data we do not sell
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. Your email address and contact details are never shared with other users without your explicit action — for example, when you choose to include your contact email in an offer.
5. Data retention
Your account data and listings are retained for as long as your account is active. If you remove a listing it is marked inactive but may be retained for record-keeping purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
6. Cookies and local storage
MarketPlates uses cookies solely for authentication session management via Supabase. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request corrections, and request deletion of your account. To exercise any of these rights contact us at the email below.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Continued use of MarketPlates constitutes acceptance of the current policy. Significant changes will be communicated where possible.
